Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: 23 August 2026
BazarHut (“BazarHut”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates the BazarHut Android application and the website at https://bazarhut.in. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we use it, when we share it, how we protect and retain it, and the choices available to you.
1. Scope
This policy applies when you browse or use BazarHut, create or use an account, save a delivery address, place or receive an order, pay online or by Cash on Delivery (“COD”), contact support, or request account deletion.
2. Data we collect
Information you provide
- Account and contact data: your name, Indian mobile number, email address if you choose to provide one, password, account status and login/session information. Passwords are stored only in one-way hashed form; we cannot read your original password.
- Delivery data: recipient name and mobile number, PIN code, house/road, locality, landmark, city, district, state, delivery instructions, selected default address and serviceability result.
- Order and purchase data: cart and ordered products, quantity, price, delivery fee, total, selected date/time slot, order notes, order status, cancellation/refund status and order history.
- Referral data: when the referral program is enabled, we may collect and store referral codes, referral relationships, first-order delivery status, reward points and reward-completion status to operate and administer the program. When the program is disabled, we do not collect new referral information through registration; existing referral records may be retained to administer prior rewards, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations.
- Support data: messages and information you send when requesting help, reporting an order problem or asking us to delete your account. If you voluntarily send a product photo through WhatsApp or another support channel, that service and BazarHut support will process it for the request.
Payment data
For COD, we record that COD was selected and the resulting payment/order status. For online payments, Razorpay and the relevant bank, card network, UPI app or wallet process the financial transaction. BazarHut receives and stores limited transaction data such as the payment method, amount, status, Razorpay order/payment identifiers, verification signature, timestamps and refund references. BazarHut does not receive or store your full card number, CVV, complete bank credentials, UPI PIN or wallet password.
Razorpay's checkout technology may independently process payment/contact information, purchase history, interactions with the checkout, device or other identifiers, diagnostics and fraud/security signals under Razorpay's own privacy terms and legal obligations.
Technical and security data
Our servers may receive your IP address, request date/time, requested endpoint, response/error information, app version and basic server/security logs when you use the service. We use this limited data to operate the service, diagnose failures, prevent abuse and maintain audit records. We do not use it for behavioural advertising.
Data the BazarHut app does not request
The BazarHut Android app does not request access to your contacts, SMS, call logs, precise or approximate device location, camera, microphone, photos, files, broad device storage, advertising ID, biometric data or government identification. A payment or communication provider may process data inside its own service when you intentionally use that provider.
3. How we use data
- create, authenticate, secure and administer your account;
- check whether an address is serviceable and save addresses you request us to save;
- calculate prices, availability, delivery fees and delivery slots;
- accept, prepare, deliver, track, cancel and support orders;
- initiate and verify online payments, reconcile failed or pending transactions, and process eligible refunds;
- contact you about an order, attempted delivery, rescheduling, payment, safety or support request;
- detect fraud, misuse and security incidents, troubleshoot errors and improve reliability; and
- keep records and comply with tax, accounting, payment, consumer-protection, court and other legal obligations.
4. When we share data
We share only what is reasonably necessary with:
- delivery personnel and order staff to prepare, contact you about and deliver the order;
- hosting, infrastructure and technical service providers that run or protect the app, website, database and communications;
- Razorpay and financial/payment participants when you choose online payment, or when a payment, dispute or refund must be verified;
- WhatsApp when you choose to open a WhatsApp support or COD-confirmation conversation; your use of WhatsApp is also subject to WhatsApp's terms and privacy policy;
- professional advisers, regulators, courts, law enforcement or government authorities when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, resolve disputes or prevent fraud; and
- a successor to the business if BazarHut is reorganised, merged or transferred, subject to appropriate protection and notice where required.
We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for third-party behavioural advertising.
5. Security
We use HTTPS encryption in transit, one-way password hashing, authenticated access, role-based administrative controls, payment-signature verification, access logging and reasonable operational safeguards. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong password, keep your phone secure and notify us if you suspect unauthorised account activity.
6. Retention and deletion
- Account, saved-address and active session data is generally kept while your account remains active.
- When your account is deleted, BazarHut deletes the account profile, saved addresses, active sessions and API tokens. Order records are detached from the deleted account and direct profile fields are anonymised where possible.
- Order, invoice, payment, refund, fraud-prevention, audit or dispute records may be retained for the period required by applicable Indian tax, accounting, payment and legal obligations, or while a claim or investigation remains open. These retained records are not used to recreate your account or for marketing.
- Operational and security logs are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for reliability, security, abuse prevention and legal compliance.
- Razorpay and other payment participants may separately retain regulated transaction records under their own legal duties and policies.
7. Your choices and rights
You may review or update your name and saved delivery addresses in the app. You may request account and associated-data deletion from Account → Delete Account in the app or through our public Delete Account page. You may also contact anjalibiswas0008@gmail.com. We may verify that the request belongs to you before acting on it.
Deletion does not override records we must keep for a legitimate legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, payment or dispute purpose. You may contact us to ask about, correct or object to our handling of your personal data, subject to applicable law.
8. Children
BazarHut is a grocery-ordering service and is not directed to children. A person who cannot legally enter into a purchase should use the service only through a parent or lawful guardian. If you believe a child provided personal data without appropriate involvement, contact us.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our service, providers or legal requirements change. The current version and effective date will be published on this page. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by another reasonable method.
